Spy software is often used as a spouse or child monitor, a surveillance tool or simply a tool used to spy on users that have gained unauthorized access to a system. It secretly records user information and activity with the user's knowledge. In today's digital age spy software is becoming more advanced. Some applications have the capability of being installed remotely without the need for physical access to your pc. The software may be used by schools to monitor student activity. Additionally some companies may use it to monitor employee behavior at the workplace.
Spy software could be considered a type of spyware. Users’ having their computers infected with spyware is a common problem among internet users. Spy software is completely legal as long as the machine it is installed on belongs to you. Children or employees that are being monitored must be notified of the fact that they are being monitored.
